Russell County among top 10 counties nationwide in new COVID cases

Russell County was back in the top 10 of the New York Times’ COVID tracker on Monday for the number of new cases per 100,000 population over the last seven days.

Russell County ranked seventh nationwide with 186 new cases per 100,000 population.

The top 10 counties with the most cases per 100,000 included six counties in Kentucky, three in Tennessee, and one in Oklahoma.

Russell County was the fourth-ranked Kentucky county on the list. Perry, Clay, and Whitley counties were higher than Russell County.
