More than 8,300 Russell County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the CDC.
The CDC reports that 8,325 Russell County residents have received at least one dose.
About 57.5 percent of Russell County’s adult population has received at least one dose and nearly 50 percent are fully vaccinated.
Based on the CDC data, about 69.5 percent of those in the county who are 65 and older have been fully vaccinated.
The Lake Cumberland District Health Department reported that since the vaccine has been available, about 94.7 percent of new cases have been among people who were not fully vaccinated.
