First South Central KY Sheriff’s Charity Ride raises $5,000

Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston said the first annual South Central Kentucky Sheriff’s Charity Ride raised $5,000 this past weekend.

The $5,000 that was raised is split between the sheriffs in Russell, Adair, Casey, Clinton, and Cumberland counties.

Polston said his split of the money raised, which was $1,000, will be donated to the Shop with a Cop program that provides Christmas gifts for children in the community, the Russell County Special Olympics, and the Kentucky Sheriff’s Association Boys and Girls Ranch.

About 100 riders participated over the weekend.

Polston said plans are to have this ride annually with another ride coming in 2022.

He said he’s thankful for all the sponsors and donors that made the ride possible and thanked God that everyone remained safe during the 100+ mile ride.
