Lindsey Wilson Football to play in national semifinals Saturday

COLUMBIA, Ky. — For the first time in the program’s history, the Lindsey Wilson football team will host a national semifinal game, NAIA officials announced this afternoon.

Third-seeded Lindsey Wilson (9-0) welcomes fourth-seeded Keiser (Fla.) to Blue Raider Stadium on Saturday, May 1. Kickoff is slated for 12:30 p.m. CT.

The Blue Raiders advanced to their second straight semifinals with a 49-27 win over No. 5-ranked Concordia (Mich.) today in the NAIA Football Championship Series Quarterfinals. With the win, Lindsey Wilson improves to 2-3 in five national quarterfinal games. The Blue Raiders are 7-5 all-time in their sixth appearance in the FCS.

Keiser (9-0) — the Mid-South Conference Sun Division champions — used a 28-7 second half to sprint away from No. 8-ranked Reinhardt (Ga.) 42-14. The Seahawks advance to their first-ever semifinal. Keiser is 2-1 all-time in their second FCS appearance.

Next Saturday’s game will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. CT on Saturday.
