Laker Baseball defeats Wayne County

The Russell County Lakers Baseball team was on the road Monday night, picking up a 7-2 win over Wayne County.

Noah Hadley picked up the win on the mound for the Lakers, pitching 5 2/3 innings only giving up one run while striking out one and walking one.

Nathan Lawson came in to relieve Hadley, pitching 1 1/3 innings, striking out three batters while giving up one hit and one run.

Aiden Antle drove in a team-high three runs, and Issac Roy finished with a team-high two hits.

Hadley, Lawson, and Nick Aaron also drove in runs for the Lakers.

With the win, the Lakers are now 4-3 on the season and will be on the road in district play against Metcalfe County tonight. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
