Russell County Schools set to return in-person on Tuesday

Russell County Schools are not in session today due to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day which is observed statewide, but students will begin returning to in-person education tomorrow.

The school district is implementing a hybrid plan like the one that was utilized in the fall.

The plan splits students at every school into two groups. Students with a last name beginning in A-L will be able to attend in-person on Monday and Tuesday, while students with a last name beginning in M-Z will be able to attend in-person on Thursday and Friday. Wednesday will be all-virtual and will be used by the schools for cleaning.

If multiple students in a household have a different last name, the last name of the oldest student will be used.

Parents/guardians also have the option to keep their students on a fully virtual plan if they wish.
