In high school basketball action over the weekend, in a couple of games heard on Laker Country 1049 WJRS, the boys were at home against Pulaski on Friday night and the girls went on the road to Green County on Saturday.
Friday night, despite maybe its best overall outing of the year, the Laker boys fell to Pulaski County at Laker gym, 58 to 53. Junior forward Jay Milburn led the Lakers with 19 points. 8th grader Owen Loy had 13 points and Senior Scott Hamm had 15. The Laker boys are now 1-4 on the season.
In girls action on Saturday, the Lady Lakers had an impressive win at Green County, 58 to 44, to improve their season record to 3-2. Juliah Bault had 15 points, Rachel Bolin with 13, Sophie Shearer with 12, and 11 points from Star Marcum
Both teams will be in action Monday when they go on the road for a doubleheader at Cumberland County in district matchups. Girls game at 6. Pregame on Laker Country 1049 with Jeff Hoover will get underway around 5:40.
