Monday is the last day the City of Russell Springs will accept applications for the position of Police Chief.
After that, the hiring committee that has been formed will begin reviewing applications. As of now, nine applications have been filed for the position, although a couple more are expected to be returned before Monday’s deadline.
The committee will review applications, and present Mayor Eddie Thomas with their top candidates. The committee hopes to present Thomas with at least three applicants, and Thomas will likely interview the candidates as well.
Following that, Thomas will make a recommendation for the position to the Russell Springs City Council. Thomas said he hopes that he will be able to make a recommendation to the council at the January city council meeting.
