It’s almost time for the Russell County Lakers and Lady Lakers to hit the floor for their season openers.
In less than three weeks, Russell County will host Somerset in a boy-girl doubleheader.
Tuesday, Nov. 24 is the scheduled opener for both RCHS squads, with the girls scheduled to take the floor first beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the boys to follow.
The boys are coming off of a 13-17 season a year ago under head coach Billy Carson. The girls, led by head coach Brett Blankenship, are coming off of a 25-8 season a year ago that saw the Lady Lakers advance to the second round of the 4th Region Tournament.
