Freida Gosser Bernard, of Russell Springs, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020, at Russell County Hospital. She was 80 years of age.
Born on April 3, 1940, in Nancy, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Oral and Enola Brockman Thomas. Freida was a former factory worker at Neilson Printing and a member of Bernard Ridge Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Bernard of Russell Springs; one daughter, Kimberly (and Don) McDowell of Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandsons, Jonathan (and Jessica) Bradley and Brandon Bradley; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew Bradley, Connor Bradley, and Logan Bradley. Frieda is also survived by two brothers, Richard Thomas of Norwood, Ohio and Steve Thomas of Boston, Massachusetts; one sister, Carol Ann (and Gene) Wilson of Somerset; her stepmother, Helen Thomas of Bardstown; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Frieda was preceded in death by her first husband, Lowell Roger Gosser, who passed away on September 27, 2008; and three brothers, Doc Thomas, Dale Thomas, and Callis Thomas.
Funeral services were held privately for family only on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Bernard Funeral Home with Brother Lindsey Cornett officiating. Burial followed in Union Cemetery.
Jonathan Bradley, Brandon Bradley, Dwayne Bradley, Don McDowell, Brian Thomas, and Mitch Davis served as Freida’s pallbearers.
