Russell County Man Injured in One Vehicle Accident

A Russell County man received serious injuries following a one vehicle accident late Wednesday afternoon.

Reports are 30 year old Bryan M. Lussenhop. of Hadley Cemetery Road in Jamestown was traveling north on Highway 55, about a mile from the highway 127 and 55 intersection, around 5:30 yesterday afternoon when he lost control of his 2006 Ford SUV, went over an embankment, and then traveled about 90 feet before hitting a tree.

Deputy Sheriff Kenny Perkins told WJRS NEWS that Lussenhop had to be extricated from his vehicle and received serious injuries to his lower body. Lussenhop was airlifted from the scene to the University of Kentucky hospital in Lexington. Deputy Perkins says criminal charges are expected to be filed in the matter.

Assisting Deputy Perkins at the scene were other sheriff’s deputies, members of the South Russell Volunteer Fire Department, and Russell County E-M-S.
