Jamestown Teacher is State Semifinalist for Kentucky Teacher of the Year

A Russell County educator is a state semifinalist for Kentucky Teacher of the Year.   The Kentucky Department of Education announced the semifinalist yesterday and included in the prestigious group was Donnie Wilkerson, a history and social studies teacher at Jamestown Elementary School.

The state Department of Education said nine teachers from across the state are semifinalists.   Three teachers were chosen from elementary, middle school, and high school categories.  The nine semifinalists were among 24 educators in Kentucky who were named 2021 Valvoline “Teacher Achievement Award Winners” earlier this year.  Each of the semifinalists will receive a cash award and certificate from Valvoline during a virtual awards ceremony to be held in October.

Congratulations to Donnie Wilkerson on this outstanding and well deserved recognition!!
