State education officials say KBE will not be postponing or cancelling fall sports

An update from a story last night.

Toni Konz Tatman, a spokesperson for the Kentucky Department of Education, said on Twitter Thursday morning that the Kentucky Board of Education will not be postponing or cancelling high school football or other fall sports at the meeting Friday.

This comes on the heels of many rumors that the board would be looking to do just that. According to Kentucky Sports Radio’s Matt Jones, Interim Education Commissioner Kevin Brown says the board may make recommendations or express concerns but the board will not make a decision to cancel or postpone the seasons.

The meeting can be accessed virtually through the Kentucky Department of Education Media Portal, which can be found here.
