Popular Fishing Derby Postponed

The 34th Annual Catch A Rainbow Kids Fishing Derby scheduled for June 6th at the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery in being postponed.

James Gray, regional supervisor the federal Fish and Wildlife service, says the decision to postpone was a tough one. However, as Gray pointed out, due to the federal, state and local guidelines in place for COVID-19, and with the utmost consideration for the health and well-being of the public, volunteers and staff, postponement of the fishing derby was the safest decision.

The Catch A Rainbow fishing derby has been going for 34 years and typically has around fourteen hundred participants, ranging in ages 1-15.   The crowd is estimated around thirty-five hundred each year.

No other information regarding a possible makeup date were made available.
