Persons wishing to serve on city councils or school boards must file their papers no later than Tuesday, June 2nd.
In year’s past, the filing deadline has been in August for these positions. However, under new Kentucky law, the deadline is earlier, now June 2nd at 4pmCT.
To avoid any delays in the filing of candidate documents to attain ballot access required to file with the County Clerk, candidates should directly contact the county clerk for filing procedures and requirements.
Also, the May primary is now rescheduled for June 23rd due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The only local race on the May ballot will be for State Representative.
