School Board Meets this Evening

The Coronavirus pandemic continues to cause change for local school students. On Friday, the Kentucky High School Athletic Association officially imposed a “dead period” thru April 11th, which will prohibit any student athletic activity, including practice. Superintendent Michael Ford late last week announced all future trips for students, athletic and otherwise, were being cancelled. The Russell County Board of Education will discuss the matter during their regular monthly meeting this evening, which starts at 5:00 pm at Russell Springs Elementary School.

The board will also hear from Kevin Williams regarding his upcoming concert, discuss assistant softball coaches, and hear a personnel report from Superintendent Ford.

We will have full details of tonight’s meeting on WJRS News tomorrow.
