An elderly Bullitt County man was killed early Saturday morning following a collision in Columbia. According to reports, 77-year-old George Blevins, Sr. of Shepherdsville was operating a 2013 Buick automobile when he pulled from Greensburg Street onto Veterans Memorial Bypass, just inside the Columbia City limits, and pulled into the path of a 2017 Kenworth Tractor trailer being operated by Edward Johnson of Tennessee.
Blevins was transported by Adair EMS to T.J. Health Columbia, then airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, where he died as a result of his injuries.
Columbia Police Officer Anthony Darnell is continuing the investigation.
