Two Injured in Collision this Morning

Two people were injured as a result of a two-vehicle collision early this (Wednesday) morning.

According to Jamestown Police Chief Lee Smith, the collision occurred at the intersection of U.S. 127 and Airport Road when a 2015 Mazda being driven by 55-year-old Douglas Reece of Jamestown turned into the path of a southbound 1999 Isuzu being operated by 19-year-old Aaron Bernard of Jamestown.

Reese was transported by private vehicle to the Russell County hospital for treatment of his injuries. Aaron Bernard was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

Deputy Sheriff Nathan Ginn, Russell County EMS, and members of the Jamestown Fire Department, assisted Police Chief Lee Smith at the scene.
