Russell Springs Man Arrested in Casey County Over the Weekend

A traffic stop led to the to drug arrest of a Russell Springs man in neighboring Casey County this past weekend. On Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 2:20 pm, Trooper Billy Begley was on routine patrol five miles west of Liberty on KY 206 when he stopped a 2005 Dodge pickup for a registration violation. The driver, 32-year-old Buddy Bernard of Russell Springs gave consent to search the vehicle, resulting in several small bags containing suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, syringes and prescription medications being located. Bernard was arrested and charged with no registration receipt, no registration plate, no insurance card, failure of owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense, failure to notify address change to the department of transportation, owner to notify clerk of residence or name change, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine), and possession of marijuana. Bernard was lodged in the Casey County Detention Center.
