Christmas on the Square begins at 4 pm this afternoon on Monument Square in Jamestown with events running up until 8 pm. Traffic around the square will be detoured in the same manner as it was during the Lakefest celebration earlier this year during the event time. There will be a community Christmas tree lighting and children’s ornament celebration, pop-up shops and vendor booths, horse drawn carriage rides, photos with Santa Claus sponsored by the Jamestown Lion’s Club, Christmas carols, musical performances and much more. Mayor Nick Shearer and the city council, long with the Russell County Celebrates group, invites everyone to come out and take part in this free community event.
