Governor Matt Bevin conceded the governor’s race to Governor-Elect Andy Beshear following a recanvass of votes across the state on Thursday.
The Russell County Board of Elections found no inaccuracies or discrepancies during their look back at votes from the November 5th General Election.
In the end, Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes confirmed that Bevin had lost by a total of 5,136 votes statewide.
During his concession speech, Bevin said his team was working with Beshear’s to ensure a smooth transition of the governor’s office.
