Gas prices in our region of Kentucky are seven cents cheaper this week at $2.29, according to Triple A. The majority of Russell County prices hovered around the $2.35 mark for the past several days.
With the Thanksgiving holiday upcoming and nearly 49.3 million Americans expected to travel by car during that stretch, gas prices may start to fluctuate by the end of this week.
The lower gas prices, however, are expected to bring the highest number of holiday travelers since 2005, Triple A says.
On the national front, today’s national average of $2.59 is two cents cheaper than last week’s prices.
