Russell County Judge-Executive Gary Robertson signed a proclamation this week, declaring October 21st-25th as Kentucky Business and Professional Women’s Week.
Working women make up 56.8 percent of the nation’s workforce and the BPW promotes quality for all women and fights for better conditions for women through the study of social, educational, economic and political problems.
BPW President Barbara Sharpe, Treasurer Lindsey Gosser, Gina Hill, and Patti Lamb were all present at the proclamation signing.
The BPW meets every fourth Tuesday of the month at noon at the Jamestown Café. Everyone is welcome to attend.
