LC ATC Took a Trip to Manufacturing Company this Week

Earlier this week, the Lake Cumberland Area Technology Center and Camtech Manufacturing Solutions in Pulaski County took part in the first-ever “Bus 2 Business” Day, a program focused on making connections between high school students and businesses in their region.

The event allowed 35 students to take a bus to visit CMS and learn more about career opportunities there. WJRS NEWS sat down with ATC student Steven Albrecht, gave an overview of the company, which provides resources for automation services, engineering, consulting, and solutions for manufacturers and automation integrators…

Albrecht said the trip was beneficial in learning more about a potential career…

ATC student Skylier Allen said the trip to CMS was an eye-opening experience…

The day provided a chance for students to tour the businesses; complete hands-on work-based learning activities, and speak directly with business leaders about career pathways available in their organization. The Kentucky Chamber Workforce Center and JAG KY, along with businesses across the state, provided funding to make the event possible.
