Fall Wildfire Hazard Season

While a countywide burn ban remains in place due to recent dry conditions, the month of October has brought with it Fall Wildfire Hazard Season as well.

Once the countywide 24-hour burn ban is no longer in effect, the 6:00 am to 6:00 pm burning law will take precedence, prohibiting burning before 6:00 pm if the fire is in or within 150 feet of, woodland, brush land, of fields containing dry grass or other flammable materials.

These restrictions are in effect every year from the beginning of October through December 15th, according to the Kentucky Division of Forestry.
