Three Fires Occurred Sunday

The Russell Springs Fire Department responded to three fires on Sunday, according to Fire Chief HM Bottom. The first came at 7 am when the department responded to the Grace Manor Apartments to a report of a grease fire in a skillet. The fire was quickly extinguished but the apartment did suffer some smoke damage. Then at 11 am, the department responded to a 3-vehicle accident on Main St. and put out a fire in one of the vehicles involved and at 3:30 pm the department responded to 484 Loveless Rd. where a car parked in an attached garage had caught fire. The vehicle received heavy damage before firefighters extinguished the blaze while the garage suffered only minor damage, Bottom said. Firefighters were on the scene for approximately 30 minutes at each of the fires on Sunday.
