The Laker golf team played in the Meade County Invitational on Saturday, shooting their best round of the season. The team scored 314 and placed 3rd overall in a 14-team field. Clay Anderson also won the Medalist Honors as low individual in the 85-player field. Scoring for the Lakers went like this: Clay Anderson 69, Bentley Perkerson 80, Dru Stapp 81, Chase Carpenter 84 and Nick Blakey 89.
The Lady Laker golf team played in the Henry Clay Invitational at Lakeside Golf Course in Lexington on Saturday. Their total team score was 372. Kamryn Richardson shot an 85, Breanna Trautman a 92, McKenzie Trautman an 87, Audrey Burton a 108 and Madalyn Wright a 120.
The 6th grade girls’ basketball team played in their conference tournament on Saturday, finishing as tournament runners-up and regular season conference co-champions. Russell County defeated Campbellsville in the semifinals 28-13 with Aniyah Coffey scoring nine points. The Lady Lakers fell to Casey County 22-20 in the championship game. Coffey scored 10 points to lead Russell County in that game.
Today, the Laker JV football team is at LaRue County for a 5 pm kickoff. The 7th and 8th grade girls’ basketball conference tournaments begin tonight at Green County. The Lady Laker 7th grade plays at 5 pm with the 8th grade matchup to follow.
Any student in grades 7 through 12th that are interested in signing up for the bowling team, there will be a meeting in the RCHS cafeteria on tonight at 6 pm.
