Early Tuesday Morning Crash Sends Three to Hospital

A two-vehicle injury accident sent three men to the hospital for treatment on Tuesday morning, according to the Russell County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 6:00 am eight miles south of Jamestown, Matthew Jones of Jamestown was entering US 127 from D. Mann Road when he collided with a southbound vehicle being driven by Lester Bernard of Jamestown. Matthew Jones was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington for treatment of his injuries while Lester Bernard was transported to Russell County Hospital by Russell County EMS. A passenger in the Jones’ vehicle, Josh Jones, was taken to the local hospital by private vehicle. The crash remains under investigation by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office
