Columbia Man Sentenced on Child Sex Crimes

According to the Kentucky State Police,

Last week, Joshua David Gayde, age 36, of Columbia, appeared in Adair Circuit Court and was sentenced after entering a guilty plea to nine charges involving sex crimes against a minor child that occurred in June 2019.  Gayde pled guilty to four counts of First-Degree Rape involving a child under 12 years old and five counts of First-Degree Sexual Abuse involving a child under 12 years old.

Pursuant to the plea agreement Gayde will serve a total of 23 ½ years in the state penitentiary. Upon his release from prison Gayde will be required to register as a lifetime sex offender on the Kentucky State Sex Offender Registry.

The investigation was led by Kentucky State Police Detective Nick Davis.
