The Lake Cumberland Tourist Commission took in $17,892.54 in transient taxes during the month of June, its last reporting month, which was up from $11,431.74 in May and $16,488.25 in June of 2018. During the month of July there were 131 visitor guides requested and at the end of the month there were 135,364 “likes” on the Lake Cumberland Visit Russell County Facebook page.
Marson said because board member Jeff Padilla is no longer employed by State Dock, his seat has become vacant. It will be up to the fiscal court to approve a new board member once several options presented before county leaders.
