The RCMS girls basketball home game tonight against Clinton County has been canceled and will be made up at a later date.

The Russell County 15U Baseball Team will have a community prayer and send-off parade from the Laker baseball field tonight at 5:50 pm before the team heads to Bismarck, North Dakota on Tuesday to compete in the 2019 Babe Ruth World Series. Everyone is invited to come out and wish this group well as they head to the World Series!

 

The RCHS Lady Laker golf team participated in their first tournament, hosted by Pulaski County High School, on Saturday at Eagle’s Nest in Somerset. The team shot a 372 with Kamryn Richardson shooting an 86, Breanna Trautman an 86, McKenzie Trautman an 89, Audrey Burton a 111 and Madalyn Wright a 124. Today, the Lady Lakers play at Bowling Green Country Club in an invitational hosted by Greenwood High School.

 

The high school Laker golf team began play on Friday in the Somerset Invitational. The Lakers finished in the top five in the 14-team field. Clay Anderson shot a 75 and placed in the top four. Bentley Perkerson shot an 82, Chase Carpenter shot an 86, Nick Blakey shot a 94, and Dru Stapp shot 96. On Saturday, the Lakers traveled to Taylor County for their invitational with several of the top teams in the state participating. The Lakers finished in the top 10 in a 16-team field. Anderson shot 76, Blakey an 84, Stapp an 89, Carpenter a 92 and Josh Glover shot a 113. Russell County will play today in the Greenwood Invitational at Bowling Green Country Club and on Tuesday will travel to the Danville Country Club.
