During the month of July there were 20 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area, which includes Russell County.

Brad Maddox, 44, Green County was killed on July 1st in Green County.
Leslie B. Thrasher, 79, of Cumberland County was killed on July 24th in Cumberland County.
This brings our yearly fatality count to 12 compared with 15 through this same period in 2018. The statewide fatality count stands at 410 compared with 403 through this same period in 2018. During the month of July, there were 1081 citations written, 301 courtesy notices written, 1778 vehicles inspected, 599 complaints answered, 78 motorists assisted, 55 criminal cases opened and 211 criminal arrests made.
