Two Arrested Monday Night on Drug Charges

A complaint of individuals not allowed in a room at the Cumberland Lodge led to two in custody for Trafficking Illegal narcotics, according to the Russell Springs Police Department. Just before 10 pm Monday Officer Ethan Pike received a complaint and after making contact with the two individuals, Officer Pike determined them to be Trafficking in Methamphetamine.

As a result, Mark A. Deel, 38, of Jamestown and Carrie R. Johnson, 40, of Russell Springs were both taken into custody. Deel was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance over 2 grams, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Drug Paraphernalia-buy/Possession and Johnson charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance over 2 grams. Both were lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.

Officer Pike was assisted on scene by Deputy Nathan Ginn and Deputy Nathan Bradshaw of the Russell County Sheriff’s Office.
