During the month of June, there were 27 traffic accidents investigated by the state police working in the 11 counties of the Post 15 area, including Russell County.
There were four fatal collisions during the month:
Akeem D. Williams, 26, of Jefferson County, was killed on June 5th in Clinton County.
Dawn M. Miles, 42, of Adair County, was killed on June 13th in Taylor County.
Kendra Moore, 18, of Cumberland County was killed on June 25th in Metcalfe County.
Jeffrey G. Price, 76, of Clinton County, was killed on June 27th in Clinton County.
This brings our yearly fatality count to 10 compared with 15 through this same period in 2018. Statewide fatality count stands at 330 compared with 326 through this same period in 2018.
During the month of June 2019, there were 1207 citations written, 213 courtesy notices written, 1949 vehicles inspected, 551 complaints answered, 79 motorists assisted, 75 criminal cases opened and 276 criminal arrests made.
