Russell Springs Fire Department responds to house fire

The Russell Springs Fire Department responded to a house fire early Thursday morning.

According to reports, the fire department was called out to a home on Roy Drive just before 12:45 Thursday morning. Property records show the residence belongs to Jamie R. York.

The fire reportedly started in the laundry area of the home, originating from the water heater.

Due to the quick actions of the responding team, the fire was controlled within one hour with nine volunteer firefighters on scene, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the structure. As a result, the home suffered no structural damage, and no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

The Russell Springs Fire Department encourages residents to regularly check their home appliances and fire detection systems to ensure they are in proper working order.
