Lakers defeat Cumberland County in 3 innings

The Laker Baseball team picked up a shutout win over Cumberland County in 3 innings last night.

The Lakers went on the road and defeated the Panthers by a score of 15-0.

Owen Loy led the Lakers by driving in 5 runs on a pair of hits. Mayes Gosser, Mason Jasper, and Carter Stapp each drove in 2 runs, with Stapp hitting a two-run home run in the third inning, his second of the season.

Gosser pitched 3 innings, giving up 3 hits and striking out 3 batters.

The Lakers and Panthers will face off again tonight at David Rexroat Field. It’s our Stephens Pipe and Steel Laker Baseball Game of the Week, so we’ll have pregame coverage beginning at 5:15 with first pitch scheduled for 5:30.
