Lakers Outgain Eagles on Ground but Fall by Six

The Russell County Lakers came up just short on the road Friday night, falling to the Campbellsville Eagles 13 to 7.

Russell County outgained Campbellsville on the ground, rushing for 231 yards on 36 carries. Tanner Stringer led the Lakers with 121 yards and a touchdown on 22 attempts. Stringer also completed five of 13 passes for 42 yards.

Talon Huckaby led the Russell County receiving corps with three catches for 27 yards.

Campbellsville finished with 135 rushing yards and 75 yards through the air. Eagles quarterback Bryson Underwood threw two touchdown passes.

Penalties proved costly for both teams, with Russell County flagged nine times for 70 yards and Campbellsville penalized seven times for 75 yards.

The loss drops the Lakers to 0-3 on the season.
