A Science Hill man has been arrested following an investigation into the alleged abuse of a one-year-old child.
Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones says 32-year-old Lucas Q. Bradshaw was arrested without incident at his residence early Saturday morning.
The investigation began after Pulaski County 911 received a call from the child’s father reporting a possible assault. Detective Branson Patterson responded to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, where the child was being treated for injuries.
Investigators determined the child had reportedly been left in Bradshaw’s care for an extended period earlier in the week. Patterson gathered additional evidence and obtained an arrest warrant.
Bradshaw is charged with first-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or younger and second-degree assault. He remains lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $75,000 cash bond.
The case is expected to be presented to a Pulaski County grand jury.
