Local tourism spending tops $55 million last year

Tourism generated an estimated nearly $55.7 million economic impact in Russell County during 2025, making it one of Kentucky’s top 35 tourism economies and the second-largest tourism market in the Southern Lakes & Rivers region.

Russell County only trailed Pulaski County in terms of tourism spending. Tourism generated an estimated $152.7 million in Pulaski County.

In the surrounding area, Wayne County had an estimated $34 million in total spending and Adair County was at about $18.9 million. Cumberland County was at about $14.9 million and Clinton County at about $14.5 million. Casey County had an estimated $10.9 million in visitor spending.
