More than six point two million dollars raised during the 73rd WHAS Crusade for Children telethon is now going back into communities across the region.
Officials say 100 percent of the $6,235,132.67 raised has been awarded through 242 grants. The funding will support services, equipment, therapies, educational programs, and other resources for children with health care, educational, and emotional wellness needs.
Organizers say they’re grateful to everyone who helped make the effort possible — with 100 percent going to the kids.
Area grant recipients include: Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency $13,990.00, CASA of south-central Kentucky $9,000.00, Adair County Schools $52,500.00, Campbellsville Independent Schools $18,000.00, and Taylor County Schools $30,000.00.
