Somerset man arrested on charges including rape and human trafficking

A Somerset man is facing serious charges including rape and human trafficking following an investigation by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say 27-year-old Spencer C. Gatio was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree rape of a child under the age of 12, first-degree sodomy of a child under the age of 12, and human trafficking- commercial sexual activity of a victim under the age of 18.

An investigation was launched after the Department for Community Based Services contacted the Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigation Division regarding information that Gatio committed these acts with a child.

Gatio remains lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
