Two Russell County fishermen are near the top of the leaderboard after day one of the High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship on Lake Cumberland.
Russell County’s Blane Smith and Tate Reynolds finished day one at 6th overall on the leaderboard after catching three fish with a combined weight of 9 pounds and 8 ounces.
Smith and Reynolds are the highest-ranked team from Kentucky after the first day.
The tournament continues on Lake Cumberland today with weigh-ins at Veterans Fairgrounds.
