Two men taken to hospital following motorcycle collision on East 80 in Adair County last weekend

Two men were taken to the hospital following a motorcycle collision on East Highway 80 in Adair County this past weekend.

The Adair County Sheriff’s Office said 39-year-old Patrick Hampton of Louisville was operating a 2018 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Highway 80 when he slowed down to turn into a business parking lot.

Hampton’s motorcycle was struck in the rear by another motorcycle, operated by 36-year-old Kevin Smith of Indiana.

Both riders were transported by Adair EMS to TJ Health Columbia Emergency Room for treatment of their injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by Adair County Deputy Richard Shirley.
