Portion of Russell County now considered to be in extreme drought

Part of Russell County is now considered to be in extreme drought.

The northern half of the county is considered to be in extreme drought while the southern half is still labeled as being in severe drought.

Portions of Adair County and Pulaski County are now considered in the extreme drought zone, and nearly all of Casey County is considered to be in extreme drought.

No significant rainfall is expected over the next few days, which could lead to worsening drought conditions.
