Jamestown Police warning of new gift card scam

The Jamestown Police Department is warning the public about a new gift card scam.

Jamestown Police say they’ve received reports of residents receiving a call from an individual stating their Ebay account has been hacked. The caller states they will straighten out the account, but in exchange, you must buy a $500 gift card and send it to them.

Jamestown Police advise anyone who receives this type of call or anything similar to immediately hang up the phone and avoid purchasing any type of gift card or share any personal or financial information.
