Russell Springs holds ceremonial opening of Bankers Field of Dreams at City Park

The City of Russell Springs held a ceremonial opening last night for the Bankers Field of Dreams at the Russell Springs City Park.

The newly-renovated sports field is aimed at providing greater accessibility for special needs children in the community.

Coaches and athletes with Russell County Special Olympics were on hand last night to celebrate the opening of the field. WJRS News caught up with Hannah England from Russell County Special Olympics, as well as one of the athletes.

The field is made possible through donations from six local banks: Bank of Jamestown, Monticello Bank, Community Trust Bank, First & Farmers Bank, First National Bank of Russell Springs, and Citizens National Bank.
