Russell County’s unemployment rate was lowest in area in February

Russell County’s unemployment rate was the lowest in the Lake Cumberland area for the month of February.

Russell County’s unemployment rate came in at 4.4 percent. The next highest in the area were Adair County at 4.5 percent and Casey and Taylor counties at 4.7 percent.

Looking at other neighboring counties, Pulaski County came in at 5.1 percent, Cumberland County at 5.3 percent, and Clinton County at 5.8 percent.

Wayne County had the highest unemployment rate in the Lake Cumberland area at 6.9 percent.

Every county in the Lake Cumberland area saw a decrease in unemployment. Every county with the exception of Wolfe County saw a decrease in unemployment from February 2025.

Russell County saw a decrease of just under 1 percent from the same time last year.
