The National Weather Service in Louisville has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Clinton County early Monday morning.
The weather service said the tornado touched down at around 12:35 a.m. on Monday about two miles southwest of Albany. Surveyors said damage was first observed along Wright Parish Road near Wolf River Dock Road. The tornado damaged trees in the area before moving uphill to a residence with several outbuildings.
Surveyors say the tornado moved a barn from its foundation, and leveled another barn in the area. The tornado caused damage to several trees, homes and outbuildings in the area.
The weather service said the tornado had a peak wind speed of about 100 miles per hour with a path length of just over one-and-a-quarter miles. They say the maximum width of the tornado was 200 yards.
The National Weather Service Louisville office has confirmed tornadoes in Warren, Logan, and Butler counties, as well as a tornado that went through portions of Grayson, Hardin and Meade counties.
