A Jackson County man serving a federal prison sentence on child exploitation charges was indicted in Pulaski County on a charge of custodial interference.
Authorities say it stems from an incident last year, in which 47-year-old Michael Moon is accused of picking up a minor from Nancy and allegedly transporting them to West Virginia.
Last May, a child was reported missing from a residence on East Brown Ridge Road, not far from the Pulaski-Russell County line. Detectives were able to identify Moon as a suspect in the disappearance.
Moon was initially charged with possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor along with custodial interference. The possession charge was later picked up by the FBI, and Moon entered a plea in federal court on the charge, where he was later sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Moon, who remains lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center, was served with the indictment warrant for custodial interference this week.
