Significant progress is being made to restore power to those affected by the winter storm.
In Russell County, the number of power outages is now under 700. Just two days ago, there were around 2,500 power outages in the county.
There are still about 6,000 outages across the South Kentucky RECC coverage area. South Kentucky crews have continued to work in the frigid temperatures and have been assisted by multiple mutual aid and contract crews.
South Kentucky RECC said crews will continue to work around the clock until every member’s power is restored.
